CloudFlare CDN Data Leak

The CloudFlare Content Delivery Network (CDN) had a security error in it's source code which allowed sensitive data to leak. CloudFlare is used by a huge number of companies across the web, so the best practice in this situation is to simply update all of your passwords everywhere.

Was Atomic8Ball Affected?

No. While we do use a CDN to provide an extensive array of benefits to our clients, we do not use CloudFlare. We use Amazon's CloudFront CDN, which was not affected by this data leak. Your data is safe and secure with us.

Password do's and don'ts:

DO: DON'T:
  • create unique passwords using all characters, not just alpha
  • use different passwords at every website, particularly any website that has sensitive information such as bank accounts, credit cards, etc
  • use a master-password service to create cryptographically secure passwords
  • use as long of a password or passphrase as is reasonable to do
  • use the same password for any e-commerce site, forum, blog, etc. Many of these are written on underlying code that is weak and has a much higher potential to be hacked.
  • use plain words or names as a password
  • choose passwords based on "confidential" information such as birth date, SSN, phone number, or names of friends and relatives
  • include words that are contained within the dictionary
  • use strings of letters and numbers that are adjacent, such as "12345", "asdflkj", "qwerty" etc.
