How Images Influence Your Users

Have you ever gotten to a web page and been completely uninspired? Silly question, I know, of course you have, it happens all the time.

A great way to spice up your page and get your message across is to use some slick professional images. Use images that convey the concept of your site, is your site meant to be fun, serious, professional?

Images are also a great way to direct users to a particular section within your site. Eye-tracking studies show that users are much more likely to immediately look at a picture if it is a human face rather than a random object. These same studies show that users will follow the direction of the gaze of the person in the image.

So be sure to take keep these thoughts in mind when choosing and placing images. You'll make your page more interesting for your users and possibly more productive for you.
